Discover Dinagro's experience with Regenera for Inputs certification and learn how independent assessment of agricultural inputs can support process improvements and help companies strengthen their market positioning in response to evolving market demands.
As sustainability becomes an increasingly important factor in agricultural decision-making, agricultural input manufacturers are looking for ways to demonstrate their alignment with market expectations for responsible farming practices. In this evolving landscape, technical criteria and independent assessment mechanisms help ensure that the information companies share with their customers is credible and well-supported.
Against this backdrop, Dinagro Agropecuária pursued QIMA Food Certification's Regenera for Inputs certification. The initiative became part of the company's market positioning strategy and contributed to internal improvements, particularly in agricultural input management.
Dinagro Agropecuária is a Brazilian company specializing in the manufacture of agricultural products, with operations spanning all regions of Brazil. Its portfolio includes ant baits, insecticides, miticides, and fungicides designed to meet a range of agricultural needs.
As interest in regenerative agriculture continued to grow, Dinagro recognized the importance of strengthening its products' market positioning and meeting the expectations of buyers who value independent certification. The company also sought to place greater emphasis on environmental considerations within its product strategy.
Product positioning: Strengthen its presence in the regenerative agriculture market.
Customer expectations: Address growing demand for recognition through independent certification.
Environmental commitment: Integrate sustainability-related requirements into its product strategy.
Dinagro's decision to pursue Regenera for Inputs certification was also influenced by its longstanding relationship with IBD, an organization that became part of QIMA. The certification process took approximately three months and involved meeting the program's applicable requirements.
Throughout the process, the company reported valuable knowledge sharing and identified opportunities to improve its procedures. Dinagro also highlighted areas where the process could be improved, particularly in terms of efficiency and support. This feedback provides valuable insights for continuously improving the certification experience.
QIMA's Regenera for Inputs certification is designed to assess agricultural inputs against requirements related to regenerative agriculture. For Dinagro, it provided an opportunity to strengthen its products' market positioning through an independent assessment process.
The most tangible outcome reported by Dinagro was the improvement of its internal processes, particularly in agricultural input management. This progress demonstrates how the certification journey can encourage companies to take a more structured approach to reviewing their practices and controls.
Dinagro also views the certification as a competitive differentiator. However, at the time the information was collected, the company had not yet received specific market feedback or measured any impact on sales, new contracts, or customer recognition. These potential benefits therefore remain areas for future evaluation rather than confirmed results.
Dinagro's experience highlights how pursuing certification can go beyond communicating a commitment to sustainability. The assessment process itself can also encourage companies to review and strengthen their internal practices. For agricultural input manufacturers, understanding a certification program's scope, requirements, and objectives is an important step in determining whether it aligns with their business strategy.
Dinagro recommends Regenera for Inputs certification to other companies in the industry, recognizing its value as a market differentiator. Its experience reflects an ongoing journey of improvement, with commercial outcomes still to be assessed.
