The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) Releases Timeline for Paper and Cardboard Technical Regulation

On October 10, 2021, SASO held a webinar to review the requirements for paper and cardboard products importered into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The timeline for the adoption of this regulation was provided in additional to an overview of previously released information.

The Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) Issues Notification Regarding Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS)

On November 1, 2021, SASO issued a notice to Conformity Bodies (CB) as a reminder of the enforcement date of January 5, 2022 for the RoHS requirement for products of the Technical Regulations listed below. This requirement impacts existing and new certificates.

  • Technical Regulation for Machinery Safety
  • Gulf Technical Regulation for Low Voltage Electrical Equipment and Appliances
  • Technical Regulation for Telecommunication Devices

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ministry of Commerce Issues Recall for DANHOME Air Conditioner (Split) Model #GI024CV6BD0FR

On October 17, 2021, the KSA Ministry of Commerce issued a recall for DANHOME Air Conditioner (Split) Model #GI024CV6BD0FR due to non-compliance with the Saudi Standard for Energy Efficiency. Consumers are encouraged to contact the company to arrange an appointment for a technician to remove the air conditioner and arrange for a refund.
